Have You Heard About PACE? What Is It & What Does It Mean For Your Support

The NDIA is introducing a new system called PACE. Here’s a simple guide to help you understand what PACE is and how it will affect your support.

Don’t worry if you haven’t transitioned over to PACE yet. Participants new to the Scheme from November 2023 had their first plan developed in the new system and from the end of Feb 2024 onwards, all expiring NDIS plans will progressively transition to PACE.

What is PACE?

PACE (Participant and Carer Exchange) is an updated IT system by the NDIA aimed at making your interactions with the NDIS more efficient and user-friendly. It will streamline backend processes without changing how the NDIS functions for you.

Important: Let the NDIS Know You Endorse Careseekers

If you are using care workers from Careseekers, to ensure smooth and quick payment processing, it’s important that participants endorse Careseekers as their provider. Here’s how you can do it:

Endorsing Careseekers

Tips Before You Start:

Endorse Careseekers as your service provider.

Use the start date of your current plan for the endorsement. This allows us to process any invoices from within your plan period.
Confirm the endorsement is complete while on the phone or in person. The process is instant.

How to Endorse Careseekers

Option 1 – via the NDIA:
Contact the NDIA National Call Centre at 1800 800 110 and let them know you would like to endorse Careseekers as your provider.

Option 2 – via your “My NDIS contact”:
Contact your Local Area Coordinator or Planner and advise them that you would like to endorse Careseekers as your provider.

Already with Careseekers and Starting a New Plan?

You will need to endorse us again. Tell your NDIS contact that you would like to endorse Careseekers as your ongoing service provider.

Need help with endorsing? We’re here to assist you every step of the way. If you have any questions you can get in touch with us and we can help you through the process. Please email at info@careseekers.com.au

It is important to note that the aim of PACE is to wipe out fraud from the NDIS. Therefore payments will be checked more thoroughly than has happened in the past prior to being released and this may cause delays for your payments.

There are some other benefits of PACE which the NDIA states are:

Easier Access: View your NDIS data anytime, anywhere, through a simple, user-friendly interface.

Efficient Tracking: Monitor your NDIS plan progress with real-time updates on your funds and services.

Improved Communication: Stay in touch with your providers and the NDIA seamlessly, ensuring you’re always in the loop.

Enhanced Security: Your data is protected with advanced security measures.

Faster Processes: Experience quicker planning and review processes, reducing delays.

Better Resource Management: Manage your NDIS resources more effectively, getting the most out of your plan.

Tailored Support: Receive support that is customised to your unique needs, thanks to innovative technology.

The Purpose of PACE

Simplified Management: PACE provides a more intuitive way for NDIS participants to manage their plans and access supports, making everyday tasks easier and more straightforward.

Better Communication: For providers, PACE offers a more efficient way to communicate with the NDIA, submit necessary information, and make payment requests.

Inclusivity: PACE is built to accommodate diverse user needs, ensuring it is accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities.

Accurate Data: The system supports real-time data collection and reporting, allowing the NDIA to make more informed decisions and improve the overall effectiveness of the NDIS.
