Join us for a week of online events of health and wellbeing to celebrate Carers Week. Whether you work in the aged care and disability industry or are an informal carer, this week has been designed with you in mind. Yoga with Karmen

Start the week with some yoga - join Karmen for some simple sun salutations, a breakdown of surya namaskar A&B, and saluting the sun as we welcome in the spring season!

Join us for a candid talk with the inspiring Adele Gibson who is a carer for her son. Hear her inspiring story and how she manages her son's care on a daily basis. A special CS Talks not to be missed!

Come and join the Careseekers HQ team for some triva Tuesday fun. Turn on your music, facts, celebrities, Australian history and general knowledge - and come armed with a team name and a phone or computer for Kahoot access. Winner will receive a prize!

9:00-9:30am - A morning of mindfulness with Natalie from OWNYOURHEALTH

Emotional Intelligence is an area of growth for everyone, regardless of their stage in life. Building a capacity to recognize, identify, and understand emotions within ourselves and others is crucial for greater connection, life satisfaction and overall health and wellbeing.

During this session, Natalie will introduce you to Emotional Intelligence whilst shining a light on the power Mindfulness Meditation to manage emotions, handle conflict and stress, whilst tapping into the benefits of mindfulness.

Bake along with Isabella - Learn to bake an apple cake

CS Staff Member Isabella is a baker extraordinaire and the CS Team were always spoiled with her treats when we were in the office. You don't want to miss this session. It's a pefect cake to bring along to a lockdown picnic or better yet a non locked down party.

By practicing mindfulness you can change the way you think about your experiences and therefore cope more effectively with everyday stress, including anxiety, chronic pain or mild depression - Rita will teach us how to bring mindfulness into your day.

Body Awareness as a Carer with Physiotherapist Elana

This will be an active body awareness class which explores using gluts and shoulder stabilisers to prevent injuries in Carers as they assist their clients or loved ones. A really important session for carers and care workers to avoid injuries when supporting family members and clients.

Join Zoe as she talks about advocacy writing, self care and mental health recovery through words. As a woman with a disability, Zoe knows how meaningful it can be to share your voice with the world.
