How You Can Show Proof Of Your COVID-19 Vaccination

As our cities begin to open up safely, the team at Careseekers has been vigilant in making sure our community of care and support workers are getting vaccinated, providing proof of their vaccination status and are aware of their obligations as workers providing services to vulnerable Australians. We want you to feel safe in accessing care and support services through Careseekers.

At the same time, we thought we would provide some information on the different ways you can access your own proof of vaccine status.

1. Non-Digital Or Printout Of Immunisation Statement

Did you know that if you are unable to access proof online, your vaccination provider or GP can print your immunisation history statement for you? You can also call the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 and ask for a copy of your statement to be sent to you. Please note, it can take up to 14 days for this to arrive in the post.

2. Online Proof If You Are Not Eligible For Medicare

If you are not eligible for Medicare you will need an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) to get your proof online. You can get an IHI using the Individual Healthcare Identifiers service through myGov. You don't need and IHI to receive a vaccine, you only need it to get your proof of vaccinations.

If you’re using the IHI service through myGov:

  1. Sign in to your myGov account using a browser on your device.
  2. Select Individual Healthcare Identifiers service.
  3. Select View immunisation history on the Immunisation history tile.
  4. Select either Add to Apple Wallet or Save to phone for Google Pay.
  5. If you’re using an iOS device, you can use either the Safari or Chrome browsers. If you’re using an Android device, you need to use the Chrome browser.

3. Online Proof If You Are Eligible For Medicare

You can add your COVID-19 digital certificate to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay using either:

  • the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
  • your Medicare online account through myGov using a browser on your device

If you’re using the Express Plus Medicare mobile app:

  1. Select Immunisation history from Services.
  2. Select your name, then View COVID-19 digital certificate.
  3. Select either Add to Apple Wallet or Save to phone for Google Pay.

If you’re using your Medicare online account through myGov:

  1. Sign in to your myGov account using a browser on your device.
  2. Select Medicare.
  3. Select View immunisation history on the Immunisation history tile.
  4. Select your name.
  5. Select either Add to Apple Wallet or Save to phone for Google Pay.
