Help To Stop The COVID-19 Spread

These are extremely challenging times for our entire community. To protect yourself and others from coronavirus (COVID-19) there are important steps you can take to help reduce the spread.

Practice Good Hygiene

This includes washing your hands, covering your coughs and sneezes and cleaning your home and workplace.

Practice Physical Distancing

One of the best measures to slow the spread of the virus is physical distancing. All states and territories recommend that everyone maintains a 1.5m distance between ourselves and others.

Staying Home When Unwell

If you are feeling unwell in any way - even if the symptoms are mild - you must stay home. Contact a doctor or respiratory clinic and seek advice. The symptoms of COVID-19 can be like a cold or flu and can include:

  • fever
  • cough
  • shortness of breath
  • sore throat
  • headache
  • loss of smell
  • loss of taste
  • runny nose
  • muscle pain
  • joint pain
  • diarrhoea
  • nausea/vomiting
  • loss of appetite

Mask Wearing

If you are in an area where community transmission is ocurring, you may be asked to wear a mask when you leave your home. In some regions this may be mandatory. To learn more about whether masks are required in your area, please click here.

Staying Healthy

During this time, it is important to stay as healthy as possible. It is recommended that you continue to:

  • get your usual medicines
  • see your doctor for every day health issues
  • eat healthily
  • maintain your mental health
  • exercise and stay active
