A better way to find carers
Welcome to the first Careseekers blog!
We are two sisters, whose desire to set up Careseekers stems from a very personal experience. A few years ago one of our grandparents was no longer able to look after themselves, but was adamant about staying at home.
As a family we explored options; agencies were too expensive and government provided services had very long wait lists and could only offer limited help.
Eventually, a friend of a friend recommended a carer to us. She was a wonderful woman and assisted our grandparent to stay at home at a price that was fair to her and affordable to our grandparent We felt very lucky to have found this carer.
However, finding affordable and tailored care should not come down to luck. We decided to create an online platform that would allow people to connect directly with carers and work out care arrangements that meet their exact needs, at an affordable price.
We realised our experience was not unique. We heard many stories of people struggling to find tailored, yet affordable in-home care… and so Careseekers was born.
When a parent or loved one decides they want to age at home the task ahead seems overwhelming. This blog aims to give a range of tips, advice and personal stories about giving and receiving in-home care to help you on the journey.
